SnookerZone is Evolving and Going in a New Direction for 2.0…

Some snooker-cum-social clubs like Oxshott allow dogs in…

The Direction of SnookerZone — More Than Just Snooker on the Table…

Snooker has always been more than just what goes on on the table.

It’s the atmosphere of the clubs, the characters you meet, even the furry kind, the tough league nights, the small victories, and even the conversations over bacon rolls. It’s a game built on people as much as practice, trophies, and playing insights and interviews and reviews or equipment.

That’s why SnookerZone has evolved for 2.0.

Alongside all that, you’ll now see features like Winter Warmers for snooker, remarkable shots, reflections on league play, and the everyday human side of snooker.

The site now has a Winter Warmers for Snooker Column. Recipes ideal for those hearty winter nights, and even into spring…

The aim is simple — to capture the full experience of amateur snooker, not just how the cue moves or the white runs but how the game feels on and off the table.

In between, you can check out the innovative Coin Balance Cue Trainer, and watch this space for potentially more proposals for potential products in the making soon.

I’ve experienced a few snooker clubs in my time to know stuff. I know things.

I know there’s the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.

As it happens, one of the best clubs I have played in is the one I’m in now. It’s been the best two years of my snooker life so far and I’ve had a lot.

Oxshott. Friendly, observant, human, and welcoming to all – even dogs around the table. That’s being a proper decent human. I would put the Walton Snooker Centre in Hersham second on that list.

Surrey Hills Delicatessen have the best sausage rolls in Surrey, based in the High Street – Oxshott. Just a sample of it for £3.95 over Christmas was a delight – and one of the many gems in Oxshott, including, The Vic Pub which used to have a pool table as well as the Oxshott Club for snooker – of course.

Clubs with tradition – but always trying to move forward.

Because snooker isn’t just played on the table. It’s lived around it. The people. The stories. The humanity.

That’s what a SnookerZone 2.0 is going to be about. Not just snooker, snooker with life. In and around the club.
