Remarkable Snooker Shots…

This was a pot I played yesterday in my league match at Oxshott, and it was a thin cut on the pink with balls in the way – always awkward to get to the centre of the white and to not be thinking about the balls in the way. I managed to focus on the shot rather than what was in the way – but still a very tough shot under the circumstances and the pressure.

You have to have a clear focus and try to zone in on just the ball you’re potting. That can be tough – but, setting yourself up and trusting in your cueing at times is the only way – you need to have the faith in your cueing and pre-shot routine. Sometimes, they come off, sometimes, they don’t. But always create a memory bank of shots you played and try to guage whether you hit it thick or thin and adjust for next time if it comes up.

The Long Blue…

Some great other single ball pots were made in the league match – particularly the long blue in the second frame which helped me win it – and even my opponent congratulated me on the shot – because it was a full length of the table with the white just outside of the left hand baulk pocket. (as seen in this diagram below) Another awkward cueing moment!

I’ve potted a few other great balls over time in the Oxshott League so far, but I’m quite proud of this one due to it being full length of the table! (See other remarkable shots on this site)
