WOK Hot Honey Barbecue Mince
Serves: 2-3
Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 1 tsp Chinese Five Spice
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp mild chilli powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional fresh chillies
- Fresh coriander to garnish
Optional Sides
- Rice
- Noodles
- Saute potatoes
- Crusty bread
Method
Step 1 β Season the Mince
Place the mince into a bowl and season with:
- Chinese Five Spice
- Smoked paprika
- Mild chilli powder
Mix thoroughly so the seasoning coats the meat evenly.
Step 2 β Start the Sizzle
Heat the WOK and add the mince.
Cook until browned and beginning to caramelise.
Add the onion and garlic and continue cooking until softened.
Step 3 β Build the Flavour
Add:
- Honey
- Barbecue sauce
- Teryaki (if you like more garlic flavour)
Stir thoroughly so the sauce coats the mince.
Allow everything to bubble gently for a few minutes until sticky and glossy.
Step 4 β Finish
Taste and adjust seasoning if required.
For extra heat, add sliced chillies.
Finish with a sprinkling of fresh coriander.
Serve immediately.
