Sweet, tender, NOT too spicey for those who don’t like lots of heat, and just the right textures…

Jammy Pork: When a Fluke Turns Into a Finish…You take advantage and get the result…
Not every great result is planned.
Sometimes, like a fluke in snooker, something unexpected lands in your favour. But the real skill isn’t the fluke—it’s what you do next.
This dish started as a bit of an experiment: pork belly, a touch of jam, soy sauce, and five spice. On paper, it shouldn’t quite work.
In the pan? It absolutely does.
The jam melts into the soy, the five spice cuts through with warmth, and the pork picks up a sticky, caramelised glaze that feels like it belongs in a takeaway—but made your way, in the home cook’s kitchen.
It’s quick, bold, and full of character.
And just like at the table, once the opportunity is there—you’ve got to take it. Sometimes, you do, sometimes, you don’t…
🔥 Jammy Pork Belly Stir Fry
Ingredients:
- Pork belly (cut into bite-sized squares)
- 1–2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp jam (something slightly tangy works best)
- 1 tsp Chinese five spice
- Pinch of salt
- Light dusting of flour
Vegetables:
- Cabbage (sliced)
- Red peppers (sliced)
- Mushrooms (chopped)
- Aromatics (garlic, onions if using)
🍳 Method:
- Marinate the pork
Mix the pork with soy sauce, jam, five spice, and salt. Let it sit while you prep everything else. - Cook the pork
Heat a pan or wok and cook the pork first. Let it colour and start to caramelise. Remove and set aside. - Build the base
In the same pan, fry your aromatics. Add cabbage, peppers, and mushrooms. Stir-fry until just softened. - Bring it together
Return the pork to the pan and toss everything together. Let the sauce thicken and coat the ingredients into a sticky glaze. - Serve hot
Best enjoyed straight from the pan—fresh, hot, and full of flavour.
🎱 Frame Summary
Sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan.
But when they fall your way, you’ve got to take advantage.
This dish is proof that a “fluke” can still lead to a perfect finish—if you stay in control and play the next shot right.
Hear the sizzle. Take the chance. Finish strong.
