World Seniors Championship 2024 – First Day…

WORLD WOMEN’S STAR TESSA DAVIDSON made her debut at The Crucible on Wednesday in the 2024 World Seniors Championship – becoming the first woman to get a frame on the board in the event – despite losing 3 – 1.

The 4-times Winchester Women’s Series Event winner and the World Women’s Seniors Champion played Brazilian Igor Figueirido in the first day’s play of enthralling matches which saw the likes of Ken Doherty et al also take to the stage for the five-day bonanza of extended snooker at the UK’s iconic and most much-loved snooker venue.

She’s the second player to have walked down the famous steps of The Crucible in the Seniors as it was the former World Women’s No 1 Maria Catalano that paraded the event last time out.

TESSA DAVIDSON has been interviewed before on this website, here…

After the thrills and elation of the World Snooker Championships with Kyren Wilson scooping a maiden World title, the World Seniors Event which runs until Sunday sees the likes of, Jimmy White and Ken Doherty all in action all eager to scoop a first prize of 20K – up from 5K last year.

Thailand’s Legend player James Wattana rolled back the years to book a place in the next round – and it was also another proud moment for the Australian debutant Tyson Crinis.

Lee Richardson, a former professional and Snooker Legends 900 commentator, wrote this on Facebook:

“It was a pleasure to see her play again. She had him on the ropes. Just a couple of easy balls missed, and it would have been all over.”

He added: “All in all, Tessa was great.”

The World Seniors Championship is LIVE on CHANNEL FIVE EACH DAY from 12PM and 7PM until Sunday.
