Ultimate Pool Champions League 2022 Update…

TOP CAT Tom Cousins sailed through into Finals night of the 2022 Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League on Monday.
Out of a tough group of another three top players in the last 16 rounds consisting of Ultimate Pool’s no 1 for 2021 Shane Thompson, the Magician Chris Melling, and The Wonder Jack Whelan, Cousins was the victor as he won all three of his matches in the group.
Cousins, a former World Pool Champion admitted he had not played that much in the last weeks.
He added: “I’ve been a bit lazy and not played that much, to be honest.”
But he was the most consistent of the bunch on the night.
It was a good start for Chris Melling, the current Champion, who won his first match against The Wonder Jack Whelan 4 – 0, despite the revelation that Melling would be playing with two cracked ribs.
He said before in a chat with Ultimate Pool broadcaster Simon Webb that he was in pain but it was the break-off shot that was causing him the most agony.
Cousins, who joined Ultimate Pool last year as a 2-time World Pool Champion, famously jumped into the crowd in 2013 when he won one of his World titles.
He went on to reach the final of the 2021 Ultimate Pool Pro Cup on BT Sport at his first attempt.
Next week’s Champions League line-up is even juicier with 6 times World Champion Mick Hill and the Golden Boy Gareth Potts will be in action for a place in Finals night to join Christophe Lambert and Tom Cousins.
Catch the action on Monday nights on Freesports @6:30PM in the UK, or on the Ultimate Pool website.
