Two Stars of Women’s Tour to Play in Week Five of 900…

TWO STARS of the World Women’s Snooker tour are set to play in amateur snooker’s fast and furious 900 in Week Five.

World number nine Mary Talbot Deegan, and World number 15 and Woking Snooker Star Jasmine Bolsover will pit their wits in Reading as week five is set to be another tough but exciting week for snooker fans as the 900 continues to have people glued to their TV screens for three days of the week.

Mary Talbot Deegan will face former English Amateur Champion Billy Castle, and Jasmine Bolsover will face Michael Collumb.

Collumb, 34, plays on the WPBSA QTours amateur scene and hails from Scotland.

Bolsover appeared in the event last season and made a great impression on the pundits as she narrowly lost in a thrilling blue ball shootout to Canadian Vito Puopolo in the first round.

Other matches include the Irish Senior Rodney Goggins and Cuestars Simon Bubb.

The draw for week five comes as week four saw the favourite Michael Holt face the talented cueist Connor Benzey in the final on day three – both who shone over the three days with Holt hitting a ton 109 on the first day, and then Benzey showing his brilliance in day two of week four.

Benzey, 21, knocked in a delightful 70 break in his semi-final, with Holt also comfortably going through the gears on Finals night.

It was The Hitman Michael Holt who sailed through the three days of week four to book a place in the Grand Finals in November and pocket a £10,000 first prize, the biggest in amateur snooker, and he could be the first person to win a professional Shootout and amateur Shootout event.

Lee the Shirt Richardson told Rachel Casey et al, said : “Anything is possible in the 900.”
