The “Nearly” Girl of the 900 Snooker, in Week 4…

WOKING’S JASMINE BOLSOVER appeared in her debut in the fast and furious Snooker Legends 900 on Tuesday – the amateur version of the World Professional Snooker Shootout.
The 22-year-old, well documented here on SnookerZone, had her first TV appearance on Sporty Stuff TV on Freeview and was up against the Canadian National Champion for 2022, Vito Puopolo.
It was an attacking start by the former Cuestars Under-21 Champion, who scooped a title at the age of 13, who held her own well against Puopolo and managed to keep him at bay for long lengths of the one-frame shootout.
It was a dramatic end to the match as both were tied on 23 points before it was a dreaded and nervy blue-ball shootout.
Bolsover missed the second blue leading to Puopolo narrowly going through.
It was a great experience for yet another female player to get some exposure on TV and showcase her talents to a wider audience.
It comes as it has been a busy few weeks of women appearing on TV in both amateur and professional events.
There was also a great plug for Woking Snooker Centre in commentary, as some of the pundits didn’t realize that the club was still going!
We’ve documented and continue to champion the club that SnookerZone is a proud member and player of, and it was great to see a player from the club on TV.
Great for the 900 to give another female player tv experience. Well done, Jasmine Bolsover pic.twitter.com/sITu9ThRnT

However, it was the son of former professional ranking event winner, Alfie Lee, Stephen Lee’s son, who scooped Tuesday’s win. Clearly, snooker is in the blood there, and that shone through in Tuesday’s field of talent. Puopolo was the runner-up ironically.
Very deserving win for the player of the evening.
Congratulations Alfie Lee @tv_sporty #the900

The beauty of the 900 continues to be the diversity of players competing in the events each week, as we’ve got 79-year-olds competing alongside teens
Alfie Lee 19 will play David Taylor 79, has their ever been a bigger age gap in competitive snooker match on tv? I think @GWR_fr should be on the case! @tv_sporty pic.twitter.com/bBUPNXIuio
