Super Sykes Claims First Super Series in Feb 2023…

OLIVER SYKES has claimed the first of the Cuestars Joe Perry Super Series events at The Crucible Sports & Social Club in Newbury over the weekend.

The 17-year-old, a regular winner and finalist on the Cuestars tour pocketed the £500 prize money to defeat Bradley Cowdroy 3 – 1 in the final.

Perry, an ambassador of the Cuestars organization will be defending his Welsh Open title this week in Llandudno.

However, the 48-year-old is doing a lot of work behind the scenes away from his pro career helping the next talented generation of snooker players learn their craft through valuable competition and nurturing talent on the Cuestars tour.

There was also great news for 13-year-old Harry Wyatt, SnookerZone has interviewed the young talent before, but news apparently rippled around the junior leagues at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club this morning that Harry Wyatt has also made a 103 in the same event. It was the 13-year-old’s first century.

Fans were able to watch some of the action on a live stream and said the quality of the snooker on show was outstanding.

Sykes claimed the last with a 62 break as he also had winning runs of 73, 58. Cowdroy racked a terrific 92 in the first.

He is also famous for making a 147 break in a practice match against Cuestars founder John Hunter

The next Super Series event in the Cuestars calendar lands in Coulsdon next month, as the Under-21s, Gold, Silver, and Bronze events return to Woking in 6 days’ time as Mickey Joyce was last year’s winner at the Surrey-based club.
