SNOOKERZ OPEN 2024 FORMERLY PRO-AM Returns to Woking…

THE 2024 SNOOKERZ OPEN formerly the Pro-Am will return to Woking Snooker Centre as one of the first major events of the year at the Surrey-based club.

Capped at 48 players, and will be streamed, regardless of whether professionals are in it or not, the tournament for one lucky winner will receive a Q-School place as well as some lucrative prize money and there’s also a high break prize on offer.

SNOOKERZ’s TERRY T is running the tournament and has run successful events in the past, including the 2023 Bob Mason Open, the Christmas Cracker and the 2023 Pro-Am that was held in April last year.

SNOOKERZONE’S Chris Gaynor, the journalist and writer of this website, has played in two out of the three events, and supported the grassroots of snooker at Woking a lot since 2015, and has played in the 2023 Bob Mason Open and the Christmas Cracker, and will look forward to potentially catching the action on the 27th and 28th April.

This writer also invited the Woking MP Jon Lord to the event, but we have not heard if the MP will be attending or not.

Good luck to everyone who plays in the event…

Coming up on this site sometime this week:

We are toning down our writing and focusing on more in-depth features on community sports and less on events.

We’ll be publishing later on in the week an interview with the Ambassador of Boxwise Hannah Rankin, a former IBO winner, the community project and not-for-profit sports project involving Frank Warren, and that is to gain an insight into how boxing is developing community projects for youngsters and getting them off the streets and involved in sports such as boxing.

Boxwise gave us a brief teaser quote on social media…

Boxwise has gone global and we’re interested to find out more from Hannah Rankin how they’re going to develop women’s boxing in the future with their great community projects.

Thanks to Hannah for her time in answering our questions.

We’ve also got in the pipeline an interview with Snooker System’s Andrew Green on his coaching.

Woking is hosting the British Universities and Colleges Snooker Open from March 14 to 17th where 29 universities are expected to turn up although, not all of them have teams said Ben Hubbard, as some are competing as individual players, but are looking forward to the event.

SNOOKERZONE’S Chris Gaynor MAY well attend the event on the last knockings on the weekend – thanks to Ben Hubbard from the Universities Pool Council for inviting writers/journalists down to the event.
