Remembrance Day 2023…

Today is about those who have fought in wars and have lost their lives protecting the freedoms that we enjoy today.
Without them, things may well have been very different.
We honour those who protect our country from dangers and we honour those who work tirelessly in the Armed Forces and beyond in the country as a whole.
Here is the famous poem by John McRae. In Flanders Fields.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
To fallen friends…we remember you always and are grateful for your sacrifice you made to protect love, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in democracy.
