New Era for 8 Ball as Ultimate Pool Leads the Way…

WRITE OFF the sport of 8 Ball Pool at your peril…

Because since December, Ultimate Pool has gone global and news has just reached SnookerZone that the sport is making a resounding comeback – partly due to social media.
According to the UPG website, their Facebook following has reached at least 50,000.
And, their Twitter account reads…
🎱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗹 – 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲
🔹 Over 50k followers on FB
🔹 Over 21 million people reached
🔹 Over 2 million people engaging in posts
🔹 6.1 million minutes of video content viewed pic.twitter.com/pcFmOcDi1C— Ultimate Pool (@ultimatepool_) October 27, 2021
Whilst that may appear small-fry for some, with the added mix of television coverage on Freesports Channel 64 and every Monday night an event that continues to pull in the crowds with big names in snooker and pool, such as Mark Selby, Chris Melling, and Gareth Potts all jumping on board, then there’s really no excuse to turn a blind eye to this game that’s on the rise and growing rapidly.
Since its inception, the drama has known no bounds with three-way six-reds shootouts, golden breaks, and the odd shock here and there!
Within a 28-day period (between September 23rd to October 20th) the Ultimate Pool Facebook page reached over 21 million people, with over 2 million engaging in posts. Within another 28-day spell, an incredible 6.1 million minutes of video content has been viewed on the platform.

Audience demographics are international too, with the best performing countries outside of the UK being France, India, the Philippines, Morrocco, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
Will Caldwell – Head of Digital Media for the Ultimate Pool Group – is delighted with recent results and excited for further exponential growth, and said.
“Social Media is a huge part of the development and growth of 8-ball pool. With the figures that Ultimate Pool is producing, it’s clear to see that the sport really does have a global fanbase. We will continue to produce exciting content that our viewers tune in to see, week in, week out.”
Over here at SnookerZone we’ve done and will continue to do our bit for the Ultimate Pool coverage with interviews, match reports of the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup, and we’ll continue to support this great venture in any way we can!
8 Ball is back on the way up!
