Lambert C’est Tres Magnifique in Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League

FRENCH pool star Christophe Lambert became the first player to book a place into finals night in the 2022 Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League on Monday in a few weeks’ time.
Having moved a last 16 round forward, due to player reasons, last night saw the first of the Last 16 matches played in what was yet another tough group to call in the event.

DISASTER FOR DOM?
Lambert was up against the likes of Ultimate Pool professionals Dom Cooney, Declan “The Destroyer Brennan, and David McNamara, but it was Lambert who came out on top.
It went down to the last match between Lambert and Brennan, with McNamara and Cooney being eliminated early on from the evening.
Lambert told Ultimate Pool broadcaster Simon Webb before the matches that he was getting used to the Ultimate Pool shot clock and that back in France he was playing quicker despite the rules being slightly different and the French liked it.
I-Robot potted off all seven of his breaks tonight and has dropped just six frames throughout the tournament.
Declan Brennan came in as the favorite of the group because of his credentials of having played in the final of the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup earlier this year.
Cooney, who has a habit of pulling off fast clearances under pressure, had a nightmare of an evening as in one frame he was on for his colour set and he cannoned into the 8 ball and it went in the middle pocket and lost him a key frame when he was on for the match win.
He wrote on Facebook after:
Tell me why… I don’t like Mondays!
Well, my football team bottled it in the biggest game of the season and I was rubbish on TV
Congrats to Christophe Lambert on getting through in tonight’s Ultimate Pool Champions League, thoroughly deserved.
Next week, the remaining group phases resume before the next last 16 match in a couple of weeks time has the big-hitting Legends of Michael Hill and Gareth Potts in them.
You can as usual catch the UP Champions League on Freesports on Monday nights from @6:30PM.
