In 2023: 2 147’s in a Day at Woking…

TWO MAXIMUM BREAKS were made in the same day at Woking Snooker Centre on Saturday – a rarity, as the Seniors Tour Event 3 broke off for the first day of two at the Surrey-based club.

Peter Lines created a buzz on one side of the hall whilst on the other side of the hall another 147 had been made…

Former World Seniors Champion Peter Lines knocked in a terrific perfect 147 on table 1 at the club on one side of the hall, as on the other side of the club Byfleet League star Mark Leonard also knocked in a maximum which was his first 147 for 13 years.

Leonard’s 147 was not in the Seniors Tour event, but it was his 10th 147 in 13 years and there were cheers and claps from ordinary members and Byfleet League  friends as he navigated a tricky pink by doubling it to the middle and by sitting perfectly for the black. The black was knocked in cooly for the 36 pots of perfection.

Leonard, according to Cuetracker, appeared in the quarter-finals of the English Amateur Championship in 2012.

Lines cooly knocked in his maximum perfection on table 1 and will be back for the quarter-finals on Sunday.

Five centuries have been made so far in the Seniors Tour event which include two by another World Seniors tour player Stuart Watson.

The Woking Snooker breaks board is a delight to read if you pop down and see some of the centuries and maximums made by the stars of the likes of 900 star Ryan Mears, Mark Leonard and others,

And, of course, the World Women’s Tour player star and World no 14, Jasmine Bolsover has also made a recorded 147.

Thanks to Terry T for the information about Leonard’s previous 147 history and the screenshot is taken from Cue Surrey’s twitter/x page.
