NEXT WEEK sees the resumption of the Portsmouth District Billiards and Snooker League as Leagues across the UK get back to some kind of normality after the Covid-19 pandemic.

In Division 3 of that League, there is a new addition to the teams with the aptly named Waterlooville Bananas, making up 8 teams in the low division.

The players of the WB’s consist of…

Lee Rendle (Cap)
Wayne Rendle
Dan Lee
Chris Potter
Kenny Grieveson
Ollie Rendle
Ozzy Rendle
Steve Ball

Last week saw the resumption of the Byfleet League in which the Premier division and Divs 1 and 2 resumed after 18 months of Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

See the SnookerZone short report on the opening with Woking C, here…

The website read; “Great News! We are all set to start our beloved Snooker League again on 5th & 7th October 2021.

There will be:-
8 Teams in Division 1 – Starting Thursday 7th Oct
9 Teams in Division 2 – Starting Thursday 7th Oct
8 Teams in Division 3 – Starting Tuesday 5th Oct or Thursday 7th Oct
We welcome a new team from Waterlooville Sports Bar namely ‘Waterlooville Bananas’.

The Portsmouth District Billiards and Snooker League before the pandemic got themselves a new website, but unfortunately, play had to stop because of the March 23rd Lockdowns in 2020.

According to the PDBS site, Div 3 of the League has been going since 2006/7 with the team Gamekeepers Gas winning.

Before the 2020 lockdowns, team Emsworth B won the Div 3 league in 2019.
