Dempsey Doubles Up Ultimate Pool titles in 2022…

Plus, a major blow for Ultimate Pool fans…
STEVIE DEMPSEY scooped another Ultimate Pool title on Monday – bagging the 2022 Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League.
The Irishman has bagged this year the Ultimate Pool Grand Slam and now the Champions League.
He defeated Aaron Davies in the final, whom was celebrating his 25th Birthday, but couldn’t make it a double celebration – despite going one better than last year’s Champions League where he missed out on the final.

Six-red Dempsey…
Dempsey beat former World Champion Tom Cousins in the semi-finals on a six-red shootout by six seconds, managing a 24 seconds 30 shot time to book his place into the final against Davies.
Dempsey is no slouch to the six-red as he won one in an earlier round of the same tournament.
Cousins admitted he didn’t like the six-red shootout but forced a decider out of two sets to play the shootout and went first ending up with a time of 30 seconds 79.
Davies breezed past Christophe Lambert in the other semi, after Lambert said he had returned from France having played in the French Blackball pool championships in his home country last week.
Pool is apparently growing in the country and Lambert told Ultimate Pool they love “the Ultimate”.
Lambert had missed out on the Ultimate Pool Pro Series at the weekend due to that.
Dempsey told Ultimate Pool’s broadcaster Steven Jamieson after that he was delighted to get two trophies in a season against the kind of players that were in the draw.
He said it’s tough just to get one, but two.
Aaron Davies said after he didn’t make many mistakes, just one or two that cost him the final, but he played OK he thought.
In one of the frames towards the end, he was on for an incredible clearance, but couldn’t quite make the 8-ball which would have put him much closer with a chance of clawing his way back.
His girlfriend, Laura Jayne Gillet, wrote on Facebook after: “I’m so proud of you for being the runner-up. It’s a fantastic achievement and your time is definitely coming soon.”
Dempsey said he knew it was over when that had happened with Aaron not being able to claw his way back.
Major Blow for Ultimate Pool fans as Freesports will be removed from Freesat for the time being…

You may have had a notice on your TV at some point.
Due to the sudden removal of the channel, many fans have taken to social media in trying to understand what happened. In response, Freesat is saying they would love to bring the channel back – “when live sports pick back up.”
