Dempsey Delights in Group 6 of Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League…

Ultimate Pool Grand Slam winner Stevie Dempsey cruised through comfortably to book a place in the next round of the Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League.

In another tough group with the likes of Chris Day, Arfan Dad, and qualifier Andy Blurton, Dempsey came to the table brimming with confidence after his great win in the UP Slam a few weeks ago at Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

He bagged all three matches with Blurton, his final match, needing either a win or a draw to qualify.

Qualifier Blurton said before the match he had played little pool and it was a nervy start in his first match to get used to the shot clock and the setup before he settled down in his remaining two matches to set up a final showdown with Dempsey after Arfan Dad and Chris Day were eliminated early on.

It wasn’t a good night for “The Daddy” Arfan Dad, who also had a golden duck in one of his matches.

Dempsey will join five others, including Chris Melling, and Shane Thompson, in the next stages of the competition.

Next week’s Monday night drama in the Ultimate Pool Champions League continues with the 2022 Pro Series 1 winner and six-times World Pool Champion Mick Hill in action.

Catch the action in the Ultimate Pool on Monday nights with Freesports or on the Ultimate Pool website.
