Brilliant Biado Bags US Open 9 Ball…

HUMBLED FILIPINO Carlo Biado has bagged the 2021 US Open 9 Ball pool event in Atlantic City.

Biado was the last man standing out of 256 players…

Biado is the first Filipino to win the event since Efren Reyes in 1994 – some 27 years later.

After a week of frenzy over top snooker player Judd Trump entering the event and impressing the pool world with his pool skills, it was eventually a dream come true for humble Biado in Harrah’s Resort AC, New Jersey.

He wrote on his Facebook page after: “I’m still speechless. I got it.

He added: “This is one of my biggest dream and I made it thanks to God for such a wonderful blessing for me and my family.

“It’s a great match between Yapp and you will be a champ soon! Keep it up!!

Biado bags 50,000 US Dollars for the US Open win as he joins illustrious names such as Earl the Pearl Strickland, a five-time winner, Scot Jayson Shaw, and Mike Segel, a three-time winner, who won the first event in 1976.

Only one Brit has won the US Open twice, and that’s Darren Appleton in 2010/11.

Next year sees a new event on the calendar with the UK Open in London.
