5 Things you MUST do to improve your snooker game…

This is going to be a short post, but…
Also useful.
As SnookerZone has said before, every so often we will bring you a tip/s that we have been using in our game and that we have been seeing success with.
But first, here’s a simple list of five things you must do ON EVERY SHOT if you’re to improve your game and become a better player. They’re a MUST!
So…
Here they are:
- Practice straight cueing. The only way to see if you’re cueing straight, is to set up a straight shot and get down on the shot and deliver the cue. If you wildly miss, then you’re likely not cueing the ball straight.
- Keep head still when delivering the shot. This is a MUST! This is one of the things that SnookerZone has been practicing for a few weeks now and we are training ourselves not to look up too early on the shot when seeing where the object ball goes. The reason for that is, if you lift your head up before you deliver the cue fully is fully, then it will bring the cue offline!
- Watch the ball to the pocket. Again, this is one of the most IMPORTANT things for improving your game. If you can watch the ball to the pocket, and see what’s happening, then you can make adjustments and find out what the issue is. Did you cue straight? Are you aiming wrong? Is your set-up right?
- Cue through the ball. Another KEY ingredient of any good player is STRIKING through the ball and NOTING how much follow-through you are getting on the white. You can simply do this by placing a piece of chalk to the side of the cue ball and striking the ball. Then, you will see how much follow-through you are getting on the delivery of the shot! Imagine you are a golfer and you swing the club. You need to swing the club all the way around to get maximum impact when hitting the golf ball.
- A nice pause before the final delivery of the cue. Again, if you jab at the ball, then you’re most likely to miss the ball. If there is no smooth cueing in your cue action, then you will not be consistent in potting balls. Practice delivering the cue in a nice pendulum way that is consistent but also looks elegant! Most of the top players have a gliding cue action that’s swan-like and that is effortless and effective!
