2023: Magic Mink Scoops EPSB Women’s Series E2…

THAILAND’S SNOOKER STAR Mink Nutcharut has scooped the second English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) Women’s Series Event Two.
The 23-year-old, who has burst onto the scene in the last couple of seasons, claimed the inaugural Women’s Series Event One a few weeks ago where all the events are being held at The Winchester Snooker Club in Leicester.
She defeated the established Senior player Tessa Davidson, 54, and has reached her first (main) final – having won Seniors titles as she claimed the Eden Women’s Masters Seniors title back last year.
Back in 1999, Davidson reached the final of the British Women’s Open.
Nutcharut headed up a small crowd of players who attended the event in Leicester, including another professional Rebecca Kenna.
Another player in her fifties, Lesley Roberts made the semi-final.
there was also representation from India in Natasha Chethan, 15, who has shown promising results in other events, including the 2023 Asia Pacific Championship where she reached the last 16.
Nutcharut, of course, is famous for winning the Professional Event with Neil Robertson the World Mixed Doubles, as well as scooping the World Women’s Championship.
Davidson wrote on Facebook after: “Narrowly lost to the World no 1 Mink 3 – 2 on the black.
“Over all though, very pleased with my performance today and looking forward to the UK Championship next weekend in Leeds.”
The UK Women’s Championship begins next weekend in Leeds with a much greater entry list of 45 entries for the tournament with the stars of the game involved, including Reanne Evans et al.
11 countries are represented in the lineup.
