2022 Ultimate Pool Champions League Update…

Cyborg Aaron Davies Tops Group 14…

In another tough week of the Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League, The Cyborg Aaron Davies came top of the group to progress into the last 16 of the Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League – preventing a six red shootout in the final match between Neil Brittain.

With three other top quality such as the likes of Craig “Money Makin” Lakin, Hiten Patel and recent Challenger Series winner qualifier Neil Brittain (an Ultimate Pool professional in all but name) it was The Cyborg who managed to get through the group.

The first match of the evening began with drama all the way as Craig Lakin and Neil Brittain went toe to toe in a deciding frame at 3 – 3 with Lakin just sneaking it to win the opener.  There was a lucky Golden Break from Neil Brittain halfway through the match when he came from 2 – 0 down to lead 3 – 2.

Aaron Davies, who was the so-called favourite of the group, although he lost one match, he did just enough to stave off the other contenders in Lakin and Brittain, as Patel was eliminated early on.

Aaron also has a brother, Ryan Davies, 20, who is also doing well on the amateur snooker circuit and competes in the Q Tour Playoffs today where the winner will receive a two-year tour card for the main snooker professional tour.

16 players are on the field for that one.

Davies will join Luke Gilbert from #TeamBlessed with Dom Cooney, who topped group 13 last week.

Next week on the Ultimate Pool Champions League, the Last 16 matches begin early with the likes of the 2021 Ultimate Pool no 1 Shane Thompson and the 2021 winner of this event Chris Melling in action as there has been a switch to some of the remaining qualifying groups for the last 16 to be played after due to player reasons.

The Vinny Ultimate Pool Champions League is live on Freeview Freesports every Monday for a 21-week run and after, the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup qualifiers will happen to see the return of the Pairs Cup later on in the year.
